Letter from the GPFC President

UPDATED: December 24, 2020

To our GPFC community,

What a year we have had!

2020 has definitely been a year that we’d like to forget. From the bushfires at the end of 2019, which effected our 2020 trials, to a worldwide pandemic that not only effected our sport but also the way of life as we used to know. We appreciate the efforts of all GPFC coach’s, managers, parents/guardians & spectators who abided by the COVID-19 restrictions that were put in place this year that helped keep our family and friends playing this wonderful game. Hopefully, next year we’ll be able to welcome everyone to grounds to watch their family or friends play football at Mulgoa rise.

Over the last year, we have had a few of our long-standing committee members make the decision to spend more time with their family. We appreciate & thank them for their contributions they have given to GPFC over the years, without their time & effort to this club it would not be where it is today.

Thank you to all the parents & players who attended this year’s 2021 div 1 trials. A well organised event run by Dean Glover, our new coaching co-ordinator, and the coaching committee. Congratulations to the successful players who were lucky enough to be selected in their age group to represent GPFC in division 1 and 2 next year.

With the committee now in preparation for the 2021 winter competition, we look forward to seeing GPFC fielding talented squads of male and female players, who will be competing in next year’s new NFA premier competitions, the Waratah and Ruby Leagues. We hope to see many of the GPFC community coming down to Mulgoa Rise and supporting GPFC’s premier teams on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.

Thank you to all the returning committee for once again continuing to help get all our players on the field and to our new committee members who are just as passionate. We are all looking forward to a new era in GPFC, moving forward and building on what this great club is all about.

We will be opening our registrations for the upcoming winter season on Monday, January 4th, 2021 with our early bird special running to the end of January.

On behalf of the GPFC committee for 2021, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and happy new year.

Regards,

Neil Ferrier
